Travelling between Torre del Mar and Fuengirola

Torre del Mar is around 55 km from Fuengirola, and the realistic driving time is 60 to 75 minutes via the A-7 and the MA-20 ring road around Málaga city. There is no direct train option: the Cercanías network does not reach Torre del Mar or the Axarquía at all, so the journey is by car, taxi, or the regional bus service that runs along this coast, which takes considerably longer than driving and typically involves passing through Málaga. Because of this, a visit from Torre del Mar needs proper planning rather than a spur-of-the-moment decision.
