Travelling between Nerja and Fuengirola
Nerja is around 70 km from Fuengirola, and the realistic journey time is 65 to 80 minutes by car, routing through or around Málaga city on the A-7 and MA-20 ring road before continuing west along the coast. There is no direct train option — the Cercanías C-1 line does not reach the Axarquía at all, stopping well short at Málaga city — so the journey has to be made by car, a long taxi fare, or a combination of regional buses that will take considerably longer than driving.

- Nerja is known for the Balcón de Europa viewpoint, its beaches and the nearby Nerja Caves, and sits well east of Málaga city in the Axarquía region.
